American Friends of Georgia invites you to discover the unique country of Georgia from October 7 – 20, 2011.  You will experience this fabulously beautiful and welcoming place and will also visit many of the humanitarian projects supported by American Friends of Georgia (AFG).  This trip has been put together jointly by AFG and the MIR Corporation which is an American tour operator with extensive experience in this part of the world.

Begin your journey in Tbilisi with its 4th century Narikala Fortress and Sioni Cathedral sheltering the cross of St. Nino. Travel Mtskheta, the ancient capital of the early Georgian kingdom of Iberia. Visit the wine region of Kakheti. Visit the seaside resort of Batumi and much more.  Visit the Mercy Center and meet with Mother Mariam at the Convent of the Transfiguration.

About American Friends of Georgia (AFG): AFG was established in 1994 by Americans and Georgian-Americans and is now supported by people from all over the world who have joined us to provide practical humanitarian assistance to the most vulnerable citizens of the country of Georgia. We are a public charity with a mission of helping courageous Georgians establish and maintain care-giving programs to alleviate the suffering of the neglected, the handicapped, the ill, the abused, the young and the elderly. In addition, we want to help the Georgian people restore their national pride and self-reliance as they work to build an economically viable democratic society.

Chairman of AFG is Mr. Constantine Sidamon-Eristoff, Esq. "Mr. Sidamon-Eristoff is the founding Chairman of American Friends of Georgia, Inc., formed to provide charitable, educational and humanitarian aid to the people of the Republic of Georgia. He is also President of the Caucasian Society Allaverdy, Inc. (a non-profit association benefiting refugees from the Caucasus mountain region now settled in the U.S. and their descendants) and a Trustee of the Allaverdy Foundation." http://www.sidamon-eristoff.org/secondary/bio.htm
